Lemon Balm is a fragrant, heirloom herb from the mint family. It’s used in both medicine and cooking, primarily for its leaves which have a mild lemon aroma. The plant contains chemicals that may have a calming or mood lifting effect, or used for skin complaints. a perennial herb, grows in clumps up to a metre height, producing delicate white flower stems late summer that bees love.
Lemon Balm it’s commonly used to make a refreshing leaf tea. Add to desserts, salads, stews and soups and as a seasoning. Can be dried for use as a herb, a tea, or made into medicinal tinctures. Considered a safe herb for children – a gentle herbal tranquilliser and can be put in their baths. Powerful and gentle in small doses.
