This Maori Days of the Week – Ngā Rā o te Wiki – teaching resource is a free printable resource that was put together to compliment NZ Seasonal Perpetual Calendar

HOW TO USE:
Print these interchangeable Māori days of the week labels, then simply cut out and laminate. Pop them up on your classroom whiteboard or wall and update it each morning or get a student to change the day cards for you.

 

The Maori Days of the Week – Ngā Rā o te Wiki – teaching resource includes:

  • 2 versions of the poster sheet – encourage your tamariki to ask “Ko te aha tēnei rā?” – “What day is this?”
  • Also includes ‘what day is this?’, ‘what month is this?’ and, ‘what month is this?’ sentence structures in Q and A format.
  • The Modern Māori version of the days of the week: Rāhina, Rātū, Rāapa, Rāpere, Rāmere, Rāhoroi & Rātapu) In both Māori with English translations.
    The older version of the days of the week (Kupu arotau – loan words: Mane, Turei, Wenerei, Taite, Paraire, Hatarai, Rātapu/Hanarei) In Māori with English Translation.
  • Māori months of the year – includes lunar month names, english loan word names and English translation.
  • Includes Māori numbers up to 31 for use in a calendar format, with numbers, as well as Māori and English words.
